The district said the Book Bus travels through areas including Jones Creek, Freeport, Clute, Richwood and Lake Jackson, with stops at apartment complexes, day care facilities and select BISD campuses. The program is designed to help students stay connected to books and learning while school is out.

Together, the meal and book programs are part of a broader effort to keep students nourished, engaged and supported during the summer months.

What parents should know

Families do not have to be enrolled at a particular campus to use the summer meal program. The meals are available for children and teens 18 and under.

Parents should check the district’s posted schedule before heading to a site, especially during bad weather, holidays or schedule changes.

For questions, families can contact Brazosport ISD at 979-730-7000 or visit the district’s website for current summer meal information.
