BRAZORIA, Texas — The "Memorial Day Madness" mud drag racing event scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, has been officially canceled due to weather concerns, organizers confirmed.

The event, hosted by Brazoria County Mud Drags, was expected to feature a full day of side-by-side mud drag racing across multiple vehicle classes during the Memorial Day weekend.

Officials did not immediately announce a rescheduled date. Updates regarding any potential make-up event will be released once new scheduling is confirmed.

Readers are encouraged to follow Gulf Coast Times on Facebook for continued local coverage, breaking updates, and future event announcements as they develop.

The cancellation comes ahead of what was expected to be a major holiday weekend event for local motorsports in Brazoria County.
