Mother's Day Weekend Events Planned Across Brazoria County Area

Families across the Brazoria County area will have several ways to celebrate Mother’s Day weekend, including markets, brunches, a wellness walk, a church breakfast and family art events.

BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — Families looking for Mother’s Day weekend plans will have several local options across the Brazoria County area, from shopping and brunch to wellness activities and family-friendly events.

Mother’s Day falls on Sunday, May 10, but some local celebrations begin Saturday.

Saturday, May 9

The Lake Jackson Mother’s Day Market is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 110 S. Parking Place in downtown Lake Jackson.

The market is expected to feature local shopping, live music by Austin Attilio, a bounce house and a chance for families to take photos with mom, according to public event listings and Lake Jackson Farmers Market posts.

The market gives residents a chance to shop local vendors ahead of Mother’s Day while supporting small businesses, makers and community vendors.

Painting With a Twist in Pearland is also hosting a Mother’s Day-themed painting event Saturday. The “Mother’s Day — Cheerful Bouquet” class is listed for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 9223 Broadway St., Suite 101, with pricing listed from $34 to $49 per person and ages 10 and up welcome.

Sunday, May 10

Several restaurants and organizations are planning Mother’s Day activities Sunday.

In Freeport, On The River Restaurant is promoting a Mother’s Day lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring an all-you-care-to-eat seafood buffet, according to the restaurant’s public posts.

The restaurant, located in Freeport, describes itself as a locally owned seafood restaurant.

In Lake Jackson, The Local is promoting a Mother’s Day brunch for Sunday, May 10, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., according to a public Instagram post from the business.

In Angleton, Trade Winds Pub is also promoting a Mother’s Day brunch for Sunday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a buffet-style menu listed in a public post.

Families looking for something outside of a meal can find other options in Pearland.

The 3rd Annual Mother’s Day Walk & Wellness Celebration is scheduled for Sunday, May 10, in Pearland. The Pearland Chamber describes the event as a family-friendly walk with wellness activities and interactive experiences designed to help families connect and relax.

Painting With a Twist Pearland also has multiple Mother’s Day events listed Sunday, including “Lil Brushes — Mommy & Me Axolotl Love” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., a candle workshop from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and “Mother’s Day — Elegant Bouquet” from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

St. James Baptist Church in Pearland is promoting a Mother’s Day breakfast celebration for Sunday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., according to public church posts. The church listing says RSVP is required.

Residents planning to attend any Mother’s Day event should check directly with the business or organizer for updated times, reservation requirements, pricing and availability before heading out.

For local families, the weekend offers a mix of shopping, dining, faith-based gatherings, wellness activities and creative events to celebrate mothers, grandmothers and mother figures across the Brazoria County area.
