Residents in Freeport, Lake Jackson, Clute, Angleton and surrounding communities will have access to designated early voting locations throughout the county.

The Brazoria County Clerk's Office has published polling locations, voting hours and important deadlines as election officials prepare for the upcoming general election.

The final day of early voting is Friday, October 30. Election Day follows on Tuesday, November 3.

Where Can Brazoria County Residents Vote Early?

Brazoria County has designated 10 early voting locations for the November general election.

During early voting, registered voters may cast their ballots at any designated early voting location within the county where they are registered.

That means a registered Brazoria County voter living in Clute, for example, may use the Freeport Library, Doris Williams Civic Center in Lake Jackson, or another approved county early voting location.

Freeport: Freeport Library, located at 410 Brazosport Boulevard.

Lake Jackson: Doris Williams Civic Center, located at 333 Highway 332 East.

Angleton: Brazoria County East Annex, located at 1524 East Mulberry Street.

Brazoria: Brazoria Library, located at 620 South Brooks Street.

Alvin: Alvin Library, located at 105 South Gordon Street.

Manvel: Keith Traylor Criminal Justice Center, located at 6605 North Masters Road.

Pearland: Three early voting locations will be available, including Tom Reid Library at 3522 Liberty Drive, West Pearland Community Center at 2150 Countryplace Parkway, and West Pearland Library at 11801 Shadow Creek Parkway.

West Columbia: Precinct 4 Building No. 2, located at 121 North 10th Street.

Residents should verify their preferred location before traveling, particularly if schedules or facilities change.

A complete list of early voting locations is available through the Brazoria County Clerk's Office at www.brazoriacountyclerktx.gov.

What Identification Is Required?

Texas law requires most voters casting ballots in person to present one of seven accepted forms of photo identification.

Those include a Texas driver's license, Texas personal identification card, Texas election identification certificate, Texas handgun license, qualifying U.S. military identification, U.S. citizenship certificate containing a photograph, or U.S. passport.

For voters ages 18 through 69, most accepted photo identification may be expired for no more than four years. Voters age 70 and older may use qualifying photo identification that has been expired longer, provided it is otherwise valid.

Residents who do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain an accepted photo ID may qualify to vote using certain supporting documents and a Reasonable Impediment Declaration.

The Texas Secretary of State provides additional information about identification requirements at www.votetexas.gov.

Important Election Deadlines

Several election deadlines are approaching as Brazoria County prepares for the November general election.

The deadline to register to vote for the November 3 election was October 5.

For eligible voters requesting a ballot by mail, applications must be received by the appropriate early voting clerk no later than Friday, October 23. A postmark alone does not satisfy the application deadline.

Texas limits voting by mail to registered voters who meet specific eligibility requirements, including qualifying age, disability, certain expected absences from the county and other circumstances established under state law.

Residents who believe they may qualify are encouraged to review the requirements through the Texas Secretary of State or contact the Brazoria County Clerk's Elections Division.

Residents Can Review Sample Ballots Before Voting

Brazoria County residents can review sample ballots before arriving at a polling location.

The County Clerk's Office has posted information for the November 3 General and Joint Election through its online sample ballot section.

Because some contests and ballot items depend on a voter's residence, residents should review the ballot associated with their specific voting precinct.

Sample ballots are available through the Brazoria County Clerk's website.

Residents uncertain about their registration status can also verify their information through the Texas Secretary of State's voter registration lookup.

Election Day Scheduled for November 3

Voters who do not participate in early voting will have another opportunity to cast their ballots Tuesday, November 3.

Election Day polling locations are scheduled to operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The county has published a separate list of Election Day locations, which includes additional facilities not designated for early voting.

Residents should consult that list rather than assume their preferred early voting location is their only Election Day option.

For questions about polling locations, registration information or election procedures, residents can contact the Brazoria County Clerk's Elections Division.

Additional election information, including voting locations, sample ballots and official announcements, is available at www.brazoriacountyclerktx.gov.
